Year in Review
The Iowa Student Loan® 2016 Year in Review, as required by Iowa Code 7C.13(2), is a comprehensive summary of the activities we undertook in 2016 to fulfill our nonprofit mission of helping Iowa students and families obtain the resources necessary to succeed in postsecondary education.
The experienced, active and engaged group of individuals making up the Iowa Student Loan board of directors oversees the organization and works with management to ensure compliance and promote programs to address the ever changing needs of students and families. In 2016, Iowa Student Loan:
- Expanded our unique suite of online financial literacy tools through the addition of the College Funding Forecaster.
- Increased use of our financial literacy tools and resources through social media, new communications efforts and outreach through the Iowa College Access Network.
- Offered new information and products, such as the Reset Refinance LoanSM program, which help qualified borrowers repay their obligations on more favorable terms.
To further our mission, our activities helped provide increased financial literacy through additional partner nonprofit organizations and provided customer service and assistance to borrowers in repayment and shortage-area workers such as teachers and nurses.
