Ten Midwest High School Grads Each to Receive $1,000 Scholarship

Scholarship Program Part of ISL Education Lending's Nonprofit Goals

May 16, 2022

Ten recent high school graduates have been selected to receive $1,000 college scholarships from ISL Education Lending.

More than 7,500 high school seniors from around the Midwest entered the ISL Midwest Senior Scholarship between January 10 and April 29 of this year. As part of the scholarship program, each participant received emailed tips on planning and paying for college from ISL Education Lending. The nonprofit organization helps students and families succeed in education after high school. The 10 winners were randomly drawn from all eligible entries.

"As an organization, we have a lot to offer to students who are planning their next step after high school," said Steve McCullough, president and CEO of ISL Education Lending. "Our free resources and email tips stem from more than 40 years of experience working to help students and families find appropriate funding for postsecondary education without overborrowing."

ISL Education Lending provides lower-rate private student loans as well as multiple online resources to help students plan smart and pay less for college, so that they are more likely to be successful in repaying any student loans they do need, McCullough added.

The scholarship awards will be sent directly to winners' colleges to be applied to education expenses for the 2022–2023 academic year.

The winners of the 2022 ISL Midwest Senior Scholarship are:

  • Stephanie Dassing, Freeport, Illinois
  • Lucas Dymit, Minnetonka, Minnesota
  • Bennett Ellsworth, Rochester, Minnesota
  • Thomas Kazan, Bloomingdale, Illinois
  • Olivia O'Donnell, Republic, Missouri
  • Elenore Piette, Oconomowoc, Wisconsin
  • Mikala Seymour, Plainfield, Wisconsin
  • Anthony Virruso, Oak Lawn, Illinois
